    Previouse News

As New Orleans evacuees prepare to start anew and face the fallout of such a devastating life-altering event, Michigan residents and businesses are taking a hands-on approach to reducing the pressure of this transition. Through the compassion generated from images and personal stories associated with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, an organization called Family2Family has been birthed. It is designed to help victims who have been displaced and therefore migrated to the Metro Area.

Family2Family realizes that many have donated to the other charities, however we are dedicated to making sure the help we receive from the local families and businesses goes directly to those in need specifically in Michigan, rather than dealing with delays associated with processing supplies and financial support through traditional means.

Please understand that a large number of these people have come from home ownership, stable jobs, and tight-knit families, all torn apart without notice. Even those who evacuated as instructed may never be able to return to New Orleans. We encourage you to join with Family2Family in this rare opportunity to change lives and see the results take place before your eyes.

Recently Michigan has welcomed over 1,000 people who were displaced due to the tragic events surrounding Hurricane Katrina. So whether by choice or by force they are Michiganders now, and if charity truly begins at home, let’s reach out and touch our own.
